Greetings! My name is Kristina Cardwell Spiller Phillips, AKA 'T'.
My dad put the idea into my head that if you want to be truly happy in life,
you really need to love what you do. One of the things that has always made me happy is
playing with yummy fabric.
So one sunny day in Yountville, CA, my friend Paula and I pondered how to get our hands on some
of those fabulous hand-dyed gradations everyone was raving about.
Being too poor to buy them, we hatched a plan to dye our own, keep some, and sell the
rest to our fellow guild members to pay for our own stash. An assemblage of buckets,
sticks, and children helped complete our scheme. Many days, miles, and yards of fabric
have pased since then, and the alchemy of turning white fabric into a rainbow of colors
still fascinates me.
